This file covers reporting vulnerabilities in vukem-trading. The design of the protections (single-owner login, secrets only in the worker, risk gates, audit trail) lives in docs/arquitetura.md and the ADRs.

Scope and limits#

vukem-trading is a personal paper-trading and backtesting terminal. It does not hold real capital and has no live broker adapter. Reports about the following are in scope:

  • Authentication or authorization bypass (Google login, owner allowlist, sessions, CSRF).
  • Leaks of broker, Google, Telegram or database credentials (logs, props, bundles, Git history).
  • Bypass of risk controls: stop-loss enforcement, daily-loss kill switch, exposure limits, reservations.
  • Order intents duplicated or sent without a persisted decision (outbox, leader fencing, reconciliation).
  • Injection, SSRF or unsafe file import in the CSV and dataset pipeline.
  • Supply-chain issues in the build, release or deployment workflows.

Trading losses, strategy quality and market-data licensing are not vulnerabilities.

Reporting a vulnerability#

Do not open a public issue.

Report privately through GitHub: Security → Report a vulnerability at https://github.com/AlexGalhardo/vukem-trading/security/advisories/new.

Please include:

  • Affected version or commit
  • A description of the issue and its impact
  • Steps or code to reproduce
  • Any suggested fix

Never include real credentials, account numbers or personal financial data in a report.

What to expect#

StepTarget time
Acknowledgement3 business days
Initial assessment7 days
Fix released for confirmed issues30 days, faster for critical issues

The project has a single maintainer, so these targets are best effort; a confirmed critical issue takes priority over all other work.

Disclosure policy#

The project follows coordinated vulnerability disclosure: the issue is confirmed, a timeline is agreed with the reporter (90 days at most from the report), the fix is prepared privately, and the advisory and the patched release are published together. Please keep the vulnerability private until the advisory is public. Reporters are credited unless they prefer otherwise.

Supply chain#

Workflows pin every action by full commit SHA and request minimal permissions. OpenSSF Scorecard runs on every push to main, dependencies are scanned with govulncheck and OSV-Scanner, and secrets are scanned with betterleaks.
